Background:


Bank, a commercial bank incorporated in Afghanistan and managed according to international best practices is looking for an experienced Head of Trade Finance & Loan Administration for its Head Office in Kabul.


Job Summary:

Overall Job Purpose:


Due to rapid expansions of its business and operations the banking is looking for a Head of TFL Department.

The major responsibility will be timely and accurately handling of all documentary products (L/C’s, bills, guarantees, collections etc.)

Key responsibilities:

1. Reviews applications for all documentary credits

2. Checks documents presented by correspondent banks and customers

3. Registers all applications, documents and instruments systematically

4. Is responsible for the correctness, completeness and timeliness of the accounting entries in the administration of documentary credits

5. Depending on which product is transacted:

· Issues, processes (approved) letters of credit

· Issues, advises and reviews claims on account of guarantees

· Issues, advises and reviews claims deviating from standards (legal advisor)

· Handles collections

· Handles reimbursement authorizations

· Discounts bills and promissory notes

6. Prepares payment instructions for the payment department

7. Follows changes of ICC regulations

8. Maintains contact with Banks and customers, account managers, Credit Risk department, Accountancy department, Payments department, customs and representatives

9. Ensures original documents are only accessible to authorized staff members



Qualification


* Master degree
* Minimum 10 years experience directly related to Trade Finance in a commercial bank where at least 5 years in senior management capacity in Trade Finance.

· Familiar with the latest version of ICC regulations, UCP 600, URG 522.

· Being familiar with commercial banking operations.

* Posses good leadership skill.

Beside the monthly remuneration the following package is offered as standard to all expat staff:

Salary:
It depends on the position and the qualifications/experience of the candidate. In any case the minimum gross salary we will be + USD per month as starting but it may go up to twice or thrice of this amount depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications. After the first 6 months as probation we will review the salary upwards based on the performance and contribution.
We appraise all employees at the end of their each year of service with Bank. Beside that we have the year-end and merit bonus policies.

For your information, the work station will be in the Head Office in Kabul and it won't be required to travel to outside of Kabul.
