Title: Gateway Products
Duration: June¡¦05-Feb¡¦06
Details: These products were designed for call centres. There were two products:
o GSM4-BRI2 Gateway: This system was designed for European countries. Today, the wide network is based on GSM. So any call coming from GSM was diverted to ISDN network. There are two ISDN lines. So one can connect exchange to one of the ISDN line.
o GSM8-POTS8 Gateway: This system was designed for Asian countries. Here, 8 Trunks and 8 SLT Pots were used. One can connect 8 exchange on 8 trunk lines. Direct phones were connected on 8 SLT lines.
Both were DSC based systems. This DSC was like GPC (General Purpose controller).Many call related facilities were provided in this system like call diverting, conferencing, Line identification, call holding etc. AVAYA GSM engines were used in these products. The challenges in these products were to handle call without delay & making configurability in number of GSM Engines. One more challenge was in selection of GSM engines also.

Details: This product was designed for textile industries. It identifies the quality of yarn. More hairiness in yarn means poor quality of yarn. This was DSP based system. Charged Couple Device was used to take image of yarn. CCD was interfaced with Analog Front End to convert analog image into digitized form. This was two layared architecture. Layer 1 was working as OS. The function of OS was to compress the digital data and send it to application layer. Haffmann coding was used to compress these data. The major challenge in this project was to compress data of first image before coming the second image.

Details: This product was also designed for textile industries. It determines the colour contaminants present in yarn. During yarn making processes, some bad particles might present in yarn. That will make whiteness of yarn very poor. So the key function of this product was to identify those particles as per the textile standards and remove them from the yarn .This was work on opto electronics principle. The yarn data were in form of light. 10 bit ADC was used to digitize those data. This was also DSC based system.

Details: This product was also designed for textile industries. It finds the fault in yarn and removes it. This was also DSC based system. This was work on opto electronics principle. The key features of this product were to find the fault in yarn, to measure the length of fault and its diameter and to measure length of yarn.
