Executive – International Business

Roles & responsibilities:
To search for the prospective business partners in Middle East region.
To provide Documentation and samples for the approvals from local utility in
Region of operation.
To visit the prospective business partners and existing buyers for further business development.
To study the new developments in Local Market through Foreign Visits.
To be in close co-ordination with the R&D department by providing them the necessary details to enable them to undertake new product developments and enabling further re-engineering in existing products.
To study the prices of the local market and determine the product positioning accordingly.
To undertake Product Promotion the through various Trade Fairs and Exhibitions.
To assist our business partners with the necessary promotional activities to promote and position Havells as a Global Brand.


Relationship Management
Identifying and networking with prospective clients from especially Building Construction and Material and Consumer Durable, generating business from the existing accounts and achieving profitability and increased sales growth.
Monitoring speedy resolution of consumer queries & grievances to maximize satisfaction levels.
Providing value added service to customers, giving information regarding various services offered and escalating satisfaction levels


International Tender Budgeting
Involved in analyzing and preparing of International tenders
Involves in pricing for preparation of tenders.
Co-ordination with our agents in Middle East region specifically in Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Yemen.
Co-ordination with our factories for the supply of materials.
Preparing tender documents like Performa Invoice, Deviation Sheet, Manufacturer authorization form, Warranty letter and Statement of Quality, Performance security.


Assessment of Marketing Strategies/ Budget and Sales Target

Responsible for analyzing the market dynamics by using marketing tools like PESTEL, SWOT, Competitive analysis etc. to get sales and market estimation for our product in the region of operation (MIDDLE EAST).
Estimation of Budgetary plans for different Promotional Activities like consultant meets and Participation in Trade Fairs.
Planning out and coordinating to design different promotional Items (like Leaflets, Banners, Flyers, Catalogues etc.)
Responsible for designing, discussing and implementing promotional schemes for various International Buyers.

Coordination/ Liaison
Supervising the documents needed for exports.
Functioning as an interface for coordinating with production & shipping Department and the buyer to ensure that the production schedule is met and ensure on time seamless delivery of shipments.

SAP Implementation
Was involved in assisting the development of Export Module for STANDARD Electricals Limited with SAP Core team from SEIMENS.
Assisted them for the development of Modules for Export Order Booking, Inter-company Trade, and Sample Order Booking Module.

Business Analysis for HAVELLS – SYLVANIA(Flagship Company of QRG Enterprises)

Analyzing monthly reports for Central Europe (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) involving the filtering of data from DBMS Software called CUBES.
Involving further applications of various tools/ methodologies to calculate Average Selling price movement, Price performance, TDC Margin, Sales trends, Seasonality.
Using following data analysis tools.

SWOT Analysis – Establishing SWOT for each channel, product group, Sales representative from CUBES software.

Comparative Analysis – Drafting a comparative study on pricing of Sylvania viz a viz its other competitors and trying to find out the reasons behind it.

Trend Analysis – Creating a trend charts for pricing, sales and Margins from CUBES Software and establishing reasons behind it.

Drafted a comparative analysis on “The effect of price increase of various brands in Lighting Industry for Germany” and established a correlation between price increase and brand positioning for major players of Lighting industry in Germany. The views on this report were shared with management.


Sharing the analyzed data with senior managements focusing the area of concern at macro-level (i.e. Country wise, Region wise) and at micro-level (i.e. sales representatives, distribution Channel, Product Group etc.)


Cadbury India Pvt.Ltd.
Duration: May 2006 – June 2006
This training was a part of curriculum for MBA course. I conducted the study of distribution Channel and Consumer Behavior of Cadbury’s Bournvita.


PROJECTS

Research on Brand Perception of Hindustan Times - Conducting a survey amongst the readers and advertisers in order to evaluate Hindustan Times from their perspective.

Marketing Matrix – the project entails the study of current trends in marketing environment and its effects on consumers. Developing a concept of marketing matrix and comparing the viability and applicability to the matrix in the movie “THE MATRIX” which is the working paper series on Social Security Research Network website.


Project on “Jittery Ride of Wagon –R – Experience in Indian market” – the project entails the factors behind emergence of wagon R like a phoenix in Indian Market. The reasons behind its initial doom and what strategies were implemented by the company to evolve the car again in the market. It also includes the strategies that a company should introduce to make the sales of the car better.

Implementation of BLOG – The project involved dataflow, cost analysis, requirement analysis and implementation of BLOG.
